Face ID authentication
The AthletiX Pro iOS app uses Face ID to provide a convenient and secure way for users to authenticate and access their accounts. When a user enables Face ID, the app relies on the built-in biometric authentication system provided by iOS. Here’s how it works:
Enrollment and Consent: Users must first enable Face ID on their device through the iOS settings. Within the AthletiX Pro app, they can choose to enable Face ID for authentication. Consent is explicitly requested upon the first successful authentication, and users can opt out at any time later in the application settings.
Authentication Process: When a user opens the app or tries to sign in, the app prompts for Face ID authentication. The device checks the user’s face against the biometric data stored securely on the device (in the Secure Enclave).
Security and Privacy: The app does not store or process any facial recognition data. Face ID verification is entirely handled by iOS, ensuring that biometric data never leaves the user’s device. If authentication is successful, the app grants access without requiring the user to enter their password manually.
Fallback Mechanism: If Face ID fails or is not recognized, users can authenticate using their password as a fallback.
User Control: Users can disable Face ID authentication for the AthletiX Pro app at any time through the app’s settings or iOS settings.
This implementation ensures secure and user-friendly authentication while maintaining user privacy and data security.
